Momos

 

Hi everyone,  

Today's recipe is Momos with red chutney. 

Ingredients for Momos

For dough:

1.5 cup maida

1/2 cup water

4 tsp oil


For the stuffing:

3 clove garlic finely chopped

1 inch long ginger finely chopped

2 tsp spring onions finely chopped

1 cup carrots finely chopped

2 cup cabbage, finely chopped

1/2 tsp black pepper

Pinch of Ajino moto

Salt to taste.


For chutney: 

3 Tomatoes 

6 red chilies 

1/4 cup ground peanuts

Salt to taste. 


1. Make soft dough using maida. 

2. Grease it with little oil and rest it for 15 minutes. 

3. Meanwhile, mix cabbage, carrots, spring onions, Garlic and ginger in a bowl. 

4. Add salt to taste and a pinch of Ajino moto.

5. Add 2 tsp oil and mix everything well. 

6. Keep it aside.

7. After 15 minutes, start with maida dough.

8. Mix it properly and make small balls for the outer covering. 

9. Start rolling them. Make 10 to 15 at a time.

10. Put steamer on gas stove.

10. Once 10 dough coverings are made start stuffing vegetables in it.

11. Hold one maida dough cover on you palm,add vegetables mix and slowly start sealing.

12. Make all 10 momos same way.

13. By that time, our steamer is also ready to steam.

14. Slowly keep all momos in the steamer plate and cover it with a lid.

15. After 10 minutes, check on the momos. If upper part of momos looks sticky, its done.

17. Take it out and enjoy with chutney. 


Chutney:

1. Boil tomatoes, red chilies and garlic with peels. Don't over do it.

2. Peel tomatoes, peel garlic and add salt to taste. 

3. Add  ground peanuts.

4. Add everything in to mixie and make semi liquid chutney. 



This is a simple, quick and delicious recipe. It is steamed so healthy too.

If you don't want to fine chop vegetables then you can simply grate them.

You can also add tadka to the veggies, if you like.

Serve it with red chutney and enjoy!
