Hope you all are fine and had enjoyed Diwali with family.Today's recipe is about a very tasty and quick tea time snack
We need just 4 basic ingredients which is easily available in any Indian household.
The main ingredients in Shakkarpara are wheat flour, sugar and oil.
Ingredients:
2 cups wheat flour
4 tbsp oil
4 tbsp sugar
2 cup oil for frying
Pinch of salt
1 - Add water, pinch of salt and sugar in a small pan. Heat stirring occasionally until the sugar dissolves. Let it cool.
2 - Take a bowl and add wheat flour and oil, mix it properly, gradually add the water mixture to form a soft dough. Rest it for 15 minutes.
3 - Make 5 round ball from dough.Roll one dough into a circle and make small pieces with a knife. Roll and cut remaining 4 balls same way.
4 – Heat oil in a frying pan, add one shakkarpara to see the temperature of the oil, if it comes up quickly, oil is ready to fry. Add shakkarpara to the hot oil. Fry it properly.
5 - Repeat same procedure with remaining rolled and cut shakkarpara.
6 - Wait till all shakkarpara completely cool down. Use airtight container to store it.These shankarpara will remain same fresh and tasty for at least a month.
You can make your variations using red chilli powder and ajwain (carom seeds) skipping sugar to make savory Namakpara. For this you can directly put oil, salt, red chili powder and ajwain in to wheat flour for making dough. No need to heat water. You can also use Methi or palak for savory recipe.
