Palak rice

Today's recipe is Palak rice.
Its quite easy and quick to cook.
Its very healthy as spinach is full of iron.

PALAK RICE
INGREDIENTS:
100 gms palak / spinach
1 onion
1 cup rice
1 tsp garam masala
1/2 tsp turmeric
1 tamal patra
1 tsp asafoetida
1 tbsp oil
Salt to taste

Cook rice adding salt to it and keep it aside.
Wash palak thoroughly.
Take a deep pan, add water and bring it to boil. Add the palak leaves and wait till water starts boiling again. In simpler words, blanje palak and keep aside for it to cool down.
Put the palak and onion together in to a blender and blend properly.
Take a pan, add oil, heat it,
add hing, Tamalpatra, and turmeric.
Add the palak mixture and salt to taste. Let it cook for 5 minutes covered with the lid on.
Add garam masala and mix everything well. Add cooked rice and mix everything thoroughly. Take care while mixing so as to not break the boiled rice. Cover it again and let it cook for 5 more minutes.
Your delicious palak rice is ready.
If you like curd, you can spread curd on the serving bowl while serving.
