How are you all? Hope you guys enjoy reading my blog. I am really excited to share a new recipe with you all. Two days back, I came back to Delhi from Mumbai, Mumbai is hot and Delhi is comparatively so much colder. Enjoyed Mumbai and now I'm enjoying Delhi's weather.
Lets start with today's recipe
Vegetable khichdi
INGREDIENTS
1 cup rice
1/4 cup toordal/ pigeon peas split
1 small onion
1 small potato
1 cup mutter beans and carrots
In small pieces
1 tsp.mustard seeds
1 tsp.cumin
1/4 tsp Hing
1 red chilli
1 tsp turmeric
1 tsp red chilli powder
1 tsp garam masala
Salt to taste
Take a bowl, mix dal and rice, and wash it thoroghly.
Take pressure pan and pour 2 tsp
Oil into it. Add mustard seeds and hing into the pan. When mustard starts to burst, add cumin and whole red chilli.Add turmeric and onion to the pan. Mix everything well and let onion cook for 2 minutes. Add other vegetables. Mix everything. Now add rice and dal with 2 cups of water. Add red chilli powder, garam masala and salt to taste. Close pressure pan and let it cook on medium flame until it whistles twice. Keep it on sim for another 5 minutes. Turn off the flame and let cooker cooldown.
Delicious vegetable khichdi is ready.
You can have this with ghee or curd.
If you do not use a cooker, you can make it in a pan with lid on.
Its very easy and healthy. You can eat for lunch or dinner.
