Chole puri

How are you all? Hope you guys are using my recipes.
Today In Delhi, we had shower and wind chill. Temperature again dropped to 12*c
Anyway, Today’s recipe is Chole puri

INGREDIENTS:
250g  chole /chana
2   Onion
2  Tomatoes
1 small piece of ginger
1 tsp Termeric
1 ½    tsp red chilli powder
½ tsp Hing/asafoetida
1 Tamalpatra/bay leaf
1 tbsp garam masala
1 cup maida/white flour
½ cup curd
2 tbsp oil
2 cup oil to deep fry
Salt to taste

Soak chole at least for 12 hours. Best time to soak is at night and then boil it in the morning.
Boil chole adding 1 tbsp salt and keep it aside.
If you have blender make onion and tomatoes gravy. If you do not have blender choppe onion,ginger and tomatoes finely.Take a pan, add 2 tbsp oil, heat, add hing, Tamalpatra and finely chopped onion, ginger and tomatoes.Add turmeric red chilli powder,and salt. Let it cook for 5 minutes covered with lid.
Add boiled chole/chana in pan. Add garam masala. Mix everything properly and let it cook for 10 minutes stirring occasionally.
Lastly add ½ lemon. Your delicious chole is ready.

For making puri ,take maida add salt, red chilli powder and 1 tbsp oil, mix everything properly.Add 1 cup curd and make dough for puri.Make small doughballs and roll puris with help of rollerboard and rollerpin.
If you do not have roller pin and roller board ,you can use your platform as roller board and thin bottle as roller pin.
Take a pan, add 2 cups of oil to deep fry. Let oil heat,when you see slight smoke coming out from oil slowly drop puri in to the pan.Wait for 2 seconds then flip other side, puri will start puffing and become round like a ball. flip again and take it out.Put it on tissue paper so excess oil gets soaked in it.
Make all puris like this.
Enjoy chole puri with round cut onion & sprinkled lemon.
It s very delicious, & Easy to make.
If you find making puri difficult, you can have chole with rice or bread, it s equally delicious with these options too.

If you are out of INDIA you can have option of tins/cans of boiled chole,Rajma etc. You just have to add it to gravy and your chole is ready.
