Hi everyone,
How are you all ?
Today, I am writing about Sabudana Khichdi (farali khichdi).
In India, we eat this khichdi when we keep fast. There are many families who regularly keep fast on different weekdays and thus, this is one of the delicious and favourite option for them.
Sabudana Khichdi
INGREDIENTS:
1 cup sabudana
1 cup peanuts
5 medium size potatoes
1 tsp chilli ginger paste
1 tsp cumin seeds
1 tsp sugar
3 tbsp oil
2 tbsp lemon juice
Salt to taste
Soak sabudana for 5 hours, take out in strainer and let excess water drain out.
Boil potatoes, peeloff and cut it in medium pieces.
Roast peanuts properly, till its peel starts coming out. Let it cool down. Put in the grinder. Grind carefully, if its over done, oil will come out and it will become a lump.
Take out ground peanuts in to a dish, add Sabudana, add sugar, lemon juice, chilli ginger paste and salt. Mix everything and keep aside.
Take a pan, add oil, heat it, add cumin seeds, and when it starts bursting add chopped potatoes. Add salt and let it cook for some time. Stir carefully then spread sabudana and peanut mix over potatoes.
Cover with lid. Let it cook for 5 minutes, then mix everything. Again cover it with lid and let it cook for 5 to 10 minutes. Your tasty sabudana khichdi is ready.
Superb in taste and you can have it anytime with or without curd.
You can try it with buttermilk and green chilli.
