Today I am writing about idli tadka. It is made out of leftover idli. Idli is our favourite dinner and we make it little more then enough so we have leftover idli for next day breakfast.
As we had idli chutney and sambhar in dinner I thought of some variety for breakfast by
giving tadka to leftover idlis.
Tadka idli.
INGREDIENTS
5/6 idli
3 tbsp oil
1/2 tsp mustard
1/2 tsp cumin seeds
1/4 tsp hing
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
1/2 tsp red chilli powder
1 tsp sesame seeds
4/5 curry leaves
1/2 tsp udad dal
Salt to taste.
Cut idlis in thin slices and keep aside.
Take a pan add oil, heat it.
Add mustard, when it start bursting add cumin seeds, hing, udad dal, sesame seeds, curry leaves and turmeric powder.
Add sliced idli in pan . Mix well. Add red chilli powder. Add salt if you want. Let it cook for 5 to 10 minutes covering with lid. Stir occasionaly.
Your tasty idli tadka is ready.
You can sprinkle little pody on it.
You can have it in breakfast with tea or coffee.
